Mario Prisuelos releases his last cd “TOMÁS MARCO: PIANO WORKS

After the success of his previous CD with the romantic music of Marcial del Adalid, the well-known pianist Mario Prisuelos, considered by critics and audiences as one of the most outstanding interpreters of his generation, receives the fall with his latest recording.

The Madrid pianist who with his brilliant performances has filled the concert halls of Europe, Asia, the United States and Latin America with Spanish music, faithful to his commitment to contemporary composition, presents a monographic CD edited by Ibs Classical and dedicated in this time to the piano music by composer Tomás Marco, recently awarded as "SGAE Prize of Ibero-American Music Tomás Luis de Victoria”.

"TOMÁS MARCO: PIANO WORKS", the last CD by Mario Prisuelos is a homage to the Spanish composer Tomás Marco on his 75th birthday which includes among others: "Mobility of sculpture", work dedicated by the composer to Mario Prisuelos and premiered by Mario Prisuelos in 2016 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. In the words of the composer himself: "an audition of the sculpture through seven very special moments: The Victory of Samothrace flies over the steps of the Louvre, Koré and Kuros next to a Chac Mool, Bernini crowned with the laurel of Daphne, Wind of Chirino rocking a Calder, Pietà Rondanini, Birds of Brancusi go through holes in Moore and Paolina Borghese leaves the couch. They complete the program of this new CD: Soleá (1982), written on the occasion of the Centennial of Joaquín Turina; Fetiches (1967), the second work of his piano catalog; the sonata dedicated to Joaquín Achúcarro, Sonata in the form of Cármenes and the subtitled work Sonata de Madrid, composed to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the death of Scarlatti.
